Every few years, I've been forced to reexamine the value of the comment section for my websites. Years ago, when socPub was CMS Report our comment were wide open where everyone could leave a comment. The end result were a lot of great comments but eventually the bots and spammers hit us hard. While using comment fighting services like Akismet and Mollom helped, a lot of comment spam still managed to make into our pages.

Industry still struggling to defend against breaches but getting better at dealing with them according to IISP Survey

23 May 2018: The latest survey from the not-for-profit industry body, the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP), shows that over the last three years, those feeling that organizations are getting worse at defending against major cyber security breaches has leapt from 9% to 18%. In contrast, the number of businesses that feel better prepared to respond to and deal with incidents rose from 47% to 66% over the same period.

Study: 85% of IT professionals think their organization's primary IT vendor can improve its service

Customer service is king for IT decision-makers when it comes to the key checklist of what they look for in an IT vendor, according to a new study by Cogeco Peer 1, a global provider of enterprise IT products and services.

The vast majority of respondents (85%) believe that their organization’s most prominent current IT vendor can improve its service, with only 14% stating that they are satisfied with the current service they receive.

Furthermore, over seven in ten respondents stated that cost (75%) or service (71%) are in their top three factors that matter the most to their organization when looking for an IT vendor, with around a quarter (22%) saying that service is the most important factor.
