Two years ago, I made an attempt to distance myself from CMS Report. The ability to shutdown ten years of work proved more difficult than I thought so I eventually compromised by rebranding the site to socPub. Since then, I've been working on a number of additional side projects. I'm still trying to throw new ideas against the wall and see which ones stick.

Like others in the IT community, I have become increasingly concerned with Google's behavior with their AMP technology.
For those who aren't really aware what AMP is, it's Google's proprietary solution for speeding up mobile pages. Webmasters implement AMP, which is a kind of Google-sanctified and Google-code-driven version of your webpage. It works very well and solves an important problem. Often when you search Google on a mobile device it will show AMP articles at the top of the results, so you get access to fast content first, which is reasonable in and of itself.

A new, international study jointly commissioned by WP Engine and Manifesto and conducted by Vanson Bourne explores which content management system (CMS) technologies are used most commonly by enterprises and discovers what benefits these organizations derive from using multiple CMSs. “WordPress Success Among Enterprise CMSs” study surveyed over 300 enterprise-level IT and marketing decision makers in the U.S. and U.K. The majority (61 percent) of the respondents worked for organizations with at least 3,000 employees and on average came from organizations whose global revenue totaled $3.2 billion. The survey found WordPress is on par with Adobe Experience Manager as the most frequently used CMS in either a primary or secondary fashion.
LONDON - Dec. 5, 2017 - A new, national study commissioned by WP Engine and conducted by the Center for Generational Kinetics explores the mindset, preferences, and expectations of Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X and Baby Boomers for their current and future digital experiences. “The Future of Digital Experiences” study, which surveyed 1,005 people in the EU ages 14 - 59, found that for Generation Z - those born from 1996 to the present - the digital experience is their human experience. These digital natives expect to have constant access to the online world and want their digital experiences to be free, secure, authentic, transparent and personalized.
Two months ago, I introduced CMS Report "Lite" as a slimmed-down version of the original website. Since our rebranding from CMS Report to socPub earlier this year, a number of content management professionals expressed the need to cite reputable CMSReport.com for their information and were uncomfortable with referencing an "unknown" website like socPub.
REDWOOD CITY, Calif - November 21 2017 - Analysis of live operator data conducted by Openwave Mobility, the market leader in mobile data traffic management solutions, has found that 38 percent of all mobile video traffic globally is now High Definition (HD) - far beyond what mobile operators had predicted. While HD video was only 5.7 percent four years ago, it is now expected to reach at least 50 percent of video traffic by the end of 2018, reflecting the popularity of Over The Top (OTT) streaming video services such as YouTube and Netflix on mobile devices.
