A constant worry of mine as CMS Report's editor is that we won't have enough articles to publish and give you reason to visit this little site of ours. Luckily, authors and contributors with interest in content management systems constantly prove that such my worries are unnecessary. This year almost 900 articles were submitted to CMS Report. I can't tell you how grateful I am for every article that was submitted to our site. Of those 900 submissions, we deemed only 300 of those articles worthy to publish based on quality of the writing and whether we felt the story was of interest to our readers.

SetSeed recently announced version 8 of its CMS that offers a compelling alternative to WYSIWYG-based content management. For the first time in a few years, CMS Report isn't present at Liferay's North American Symposium currently taking place in San Francisco. However, we still have plenty of our friends there helping to feed us with any CMS related news coming out of this conference. Probably the biggest news presented yesterday was Liferay, Inc. revealing Liferay Portal 6.2 to the crowd. 

Liferay offers a more refined, mobile-ready version of the company’s flagship product. The new version should also help enterprises execute their engagement strategy across channels and audiences by making it easy to create mobile-responsive websites that connect with users across every stage of the relationship lifecycle. 

Movable Type brings scalability, stability and security to the newest version of its publishing platform

Movable Type, the publishing platform developed by Six Apart, announced yesterday the launch of its latest version, Movable Type 6, which is now available in North America and Japan.  The version’s debut marks the next phase of the Movable Type Creating Momentum campaign in North America, aimed at reestablishing Movable Type’s foothold as the premier content management system, particularly among mid-market and enterprise businesses.

Early this morning, I was one of two guests on the eZ Publish Show. The purpose of the episode was to discuss the future of content management system. I was joined by host Ivo Lukač of Netgen, and fellow guest Apoorv Durga from Real Story Group.

Magnolia International announced today the release of Magnolia CMS 5.0, the new generation of its open Java content management system (CMS). Magnolia 5 features a mobile-inspired, HTML5 user interface that is intended to be as easy to use on the desktop as it is on a smartphone. With Magnolia 5, full CMS functionality if provided for both desktop and tablet computers.

Today, developers announced the availability of Movable Type 5.2.6 and 5.15. The Movable Type 5.2.6 release offers fixes for bugs found after the release of version 5.2.3 and features four brand new functions. At the same time, Movable Type 5.15 also have been released. This update also includes fixes for bugs found in Movable Type EZ versions 5.2.4 and 5.2.5.

The new features that can be found in Movable Type 5.2.6 include:

Mobile compatible, mobile optimized, responsive web design and adaptive web design are all terms that have been used interchangeably, and often incorrectly, to describe websites displayed, and used, on mobile devices.
