70% of European IT decision-makers see Brexit as a business opportunity

London, UK, 6th November 2017 - Interoute, the global cloud and network provider, has revealed new survey results showing almost two-thirds (63 per cent) of businesses across Europe are anticipating high growth in the year ahead. Reassuringly despite its turbulent outlook, the UK was only slightly behind the European average at 61 per cent. As the political climate presents opportunities for those countries and companies that can move at pace, on average 70 per cent believed Britain leaving the EU was an opportunity for their company.

The EU GDPR: What Does it Mean for Businesses?

On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force, and will be a game-changer in how organizations store, secure and manage personal data.

GDPR will affect the whole of the EU Zone, which currently spans 28 member countries and half a billion citizens. Its goal is to unify data protection across the European Union, but because GDPR applies to individuals within the EU or the European Economic Area (EEA), companies outside these zones will still have to meet the standards if they want to continue using data from customers in the EU.

Distributors playing increasingly important role in the supply of ICT products

Europe’s leading distributors increased their share of the supply chain, growing their revenues by an average of 5.4% while overall the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry grew by just 0.3% according to the latest research from IT Europa and Gartner respectively. The ICT industry has been changing fast with Managed Services and Cloud-based applications driving much of the growth and the Distribution sector would seem to be evolving to address this shift.

The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance supports the European Commission’s European Electronic Communications Code

Brussels, Belgium, 27 June 2017: The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA) welcomes the European Commission’s proposed European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) and has suggested recommendations to ensure the Code’s spectrum provisions extend connectivity for Europe’s citizens now and in the future. The EECC is part of the European Commission’s plans for improved connectivity in Europe through Wi-Fi, 5G, and high-speed Gigabit broadband capable of supporting upcoming technologies and bandwidth-hungry applications. However, these applications require sufficient spectrum to function in the first instance.

Panasonic cements position as Europe’s leading rugged mobile computing manufacturer

BRACKNELL, UK. 8TH JUNE 2017 - Panasonic has cemented its position as Europe’s leading rugged mobile computing manufacturer in the latest market analysis from VDC Research. With its Panasonic Toughbook range, the company extended its market-leading share of the European rugged notebook market with a 67% revenue share of sales in 2016. The Panasonic Toughpad tablet range continued to lead the rugged tablet market with a 56% revenue share of sales and the company’s expansion into the rugged handheld market accelerated with year-on-year growth of 176%.
