Moodle 2.6.1 and a recap of Moodle 2.6

Moodle, an open source software package for producing Internet-based courses and web sites, has released it's latest version...Moodle 2.6.1. This latest version provides a number of bug fixes and small improvements as well as fixes to security vulnerabilities that were recently discovered. The new features in Moodle 2.6.1 include:

  • Moodle LogoAbility to edit a larger number of grades in the grader report
  • Improved ActionMenu ARIA support
  • Timeouts are now configurable in repository plugins
  • Quiz auto-save detects that the connection to the server has been lost and warns students

Last November, the 2.6 version of Moodle was release giving teachers, administrators, and users a host of new features since the release of Moodle 2.5. Some of the new additions included in Moodle 2.6 for teachers were:

  • Annotate uploaded PDF files in browser
  • Enhanced marking workflow and allocation
  • Enhanced feedback in Certainty-based marking
  • Easily edit course activities and resources
  • Add a Single activity course format

For administrators and managers:

  • Bulk course creation tool
  • Streamlined course and category management
  • Create additional name fields
  • Import and export role redefinitions
  • Backup and restore large courses

For all users:

  • A more user-friendly TinyMCE editor
  • Access files from Microsoft Skydrive
  • Improved calendar handling with multiple calendar support
  • Simplified username and password recovery
  • Improve file management in TinyMCE editor
  • Better responsive design

The latest version of Moodle can be downloaded from Moodle.org. Moodle developers recommend that you upgrade your sites to these latest versions as soon as possible.
