Research finds business and IT divided on software strategy

Boulder, Colorado: Improving the customer experience is the number one goal for organizations when planning and orchestrating their software strategy. However, as far as testing practices are concerned, 47% of development teams on average across businesses are not testing the real user experience.

This is according to research released today from Eggplant, the customer experience optimization specialist. The study also highlights a gap between IT and business leaders thinking when it comes to testing strategy.

For teams that changed development methodologies in the past year, nearly 40% of them adopted a hybrid Agile methodology — moving away from Scrum (pure Agile method) and Stage-Gate, a proprietary Waterfall method.

Digital Government Survey: Increasing the Quality of Citizen User Experience Is App Developer’s Top Goal

Only 20% of IBM mainframe customers are embracing multi-factor authentication to protect data and applications

While 64 per cent of mainframers are aware that multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now available to control access to mainframe applications, only 20 per cent acknowledge their organization is already using it or plans to do so, according to a new survey. Concerns about disrupting applications, lack of mainframe and security skills and resistance from end users are some of the issues holding back adoption. 

The findings come from a new poll of 81 mainframe users conducted by Macro 4, a division of UNICOM® Global, at the annual GSE UK Conference in November 2018.
